Two Days in a Row?!

Well, this will just be a short blog with some fun music that I found today.

This is the best ska/punk/folk/punk/bomb the music industry/ Andrew Jackson Jihad/guy wearing a flaming tsunamis shirt song I have ever heard.

Andrew Jackson Jihad - A Song In Memory Of Stormy The Rabbit from If You Make It on Vimeo.

Also, you kids should check out Hot New Mexicans if you are into the whole garage punk rock influenced thing. They have a really interesting sound that you will probably like if you are into the Whigs or just punk in general. They also have a good quote on there about how punk will never die, so read that while you are over there.

Hmm, what else is there... Treephort has a new CD coming out soon. It is pretty much punk but not what you have come to expect from them. More of a poppy sound going on and no horns, but the same hold sense of humor that makes Treephort stand out. It is definitely worth a listen... and why not at their CD release show next Friday (May 22nd) that just happens to be with the Hazards...

Oh yeah. The Star Trek movie was super epic friends. I saw it with my mother for mother's day, and it was a fantastic cinematic experience which I would recommend to anyone who has any desire to continue living a worthy life. It definitely doesn't bring up the philosophical questions that the series did, but it still makes a pretty solid point and comes with some good action as well... The movie is more Spock- centered than the show definitely was... so Spock fans will be super-excited by the movie. Also, it doesn't just take the show and re-create it in movie form. It takes a new perspective on the idea so its definitely still worth seeing if you think you already know what is going on.

Lastly for tonight, is If You Make It. It is a pretty snazzy website run by Dave from The Halo Fauna. He has Pink Couch Sessions, which are some awesome bands that Dave gets to play on his pink couch... you probably could have guessed that but whatever... Somehow he has gotten a ridiculous amount of my favorite bands like; Andrew Jackson Jihad, Defiance, Ohio, and Bomb The Music Industry, and it has introduced me to some awesome bands like Coffee Project (some Acoustic-ska from the drummer of Less Than Jake). The site has a bunch of other videos from shows and stuff, and a bunch of free albums. Pretty much its just good friends, playing good music, and trying to give that to you and stuff, its generally pretty awesome.

That blog turned out to be not so short... sorry about that friends...
: D
